We have some very exciting news that we have been desperate to share with you all?
STREET HEARTS BG HAS BEEN AWARDED A SPECIAL £10,000 GRANT FROM BATTERSEA DOGS & CATS HOME.
Street Hearts BG has been awarded a special grant from one of the UK’s leading animal welfare charities Battersea dogs & cats home. The funds granted by Battersea will support our work with dogs and enable our Dryanovo based charity to upgrade our shelter and make it more efficient. Improvements include new quarantine areas, drainage and electricity throughout the shelter, hygiene stations in each area of the shelter, gravelled walkways and also enabling us to have vehicle access throughout the shelter. It really will be life changing for the dogs and also the volunteers who help run our shelter. After Dan and Emma went on the Battersea intensive dog course in February it became very clear that we needed to improve the efficiency of our shelter.
We are so grateful and excited for the future of Street Hearts BG, we really believe we are making a difference in our area and hope to continue to do so. Margaret Hulme, Grants Manager at Battersea has been wonderful and says “We hope that this grant will help make a real difference to the lives of animals. At Battersea we want to support rescues and shelters, not only by awarding funding, but also by sharing the experiences and knowledge we have gained as an animal welfare charity that has been rescuing and rehoming animals for 160 years.” Battersea Grants is an initiative launched earlier this year that aims to support smaller rescues and shelters by offering grants of between £3,000 and £15,000.
This money will help organisations continue their great work with dogs and cats. The work will be completed by the end of 2020 and we are so excited to share with you all the progress.
A huge, huge thank you to Battersea dogs and cats home.
