Tour of Frankie the Furever bus and Q&A

  •

As you may know, we are currently fundraising to buy and equip a new van, allowing us to double the number of dogs we can transport to their new homes each month. We recently did a live tour of our existing transport; Frankie the furever bus. Showing the equipment on board to make the dogs comfortable on their 2000 mile trip to the UK from Bulgaria. We were thrilled to see so many people tune in to our live session, and to be able to answer all your questions.

The questions were wide and varied and hopefully gave people a real insight into the inner workings of Street Hearts BG, our monthly transport trip and the furever bus. Don’t worry if you missed the live session, the video has now been uploaded on YouTube:

It is also available on our Facebook and Instagram pages. As mentioned during our live video, we have now secured a private interest-free loan and have purchased the new van, as we desperately needed the van. But that is just the start of the process in order to rescue more dogs here at Street Hearts BG.

We are still over capacity in our shelter and have a waiting list of dogs to rescue, as soon as space is available once dogs have been rehomed. There is still a lot of work to do on the new van, as it needs to be registered in Bulgaria, fitted with crates and fans, and approved by the state vet for animal transport. We were in desperate need of a second van, preventing unwanted dogs being dumped on the streets and suffering needlessly. We still need your help to repay our loan and to fund the rest of the equipment needed to fit the van. We want it to be ready to go on its first trip by the end of October and have named it Renee the rescue bus in honour of Renee the dog, who was rescued by us. As she is still waiting to go to her forever home after two years in our shelter! Whilst we do our best to ensure every dog at Street Hearts BG has an excellent quality of life.

The fact is that for each dog remaining with us, another dog is left to suffer on the streets. But it is not too late, you can help us. You can help in many ways, such as visiting our JustGiving page for our fundraiser, purchasing an item off our Amazon wish list or sponsoring a dog at Street Hearts BG.

If you would prefer to donate to us directly via bank transfer you can send your donation to the following NGO account:

Account name: Foundation Street Hearts BG

Thank you for your continued support and our work would not be possible without your kind donations.
