Dog of the Month

Our Dog of the Month for September is Jenny!

Jenny is such a sweetheart! She is so very loving and often approaches Anthony and Emma for really meaningful cuddles. She is a timid little girl who just wants to be loved.

Jenny’s puppies are leaving the shelter this week and heading to their furever homes in the UK. They are all absolutely huge! She has done so well raising those puppies given the size difference between her and them. Their father must have been a big lad!

Jenny is up for adoption on the Wild at Heart Foundation website but, unbelievably, she’s had no interest! We do hope that she’ll find a home soon. Sadly, our adult dogs are currently being overlooked in favour of puppies, which is a real shame. There are many benefits to adopting an adult dog!

Adult dogs are often calmer, better socialised, and easier to housetrain than puppies. They’ve also passed the annoying phase in their lives where they feel the need to chew everything in sight! With an adult dog, when it comes to their personality, what you see is what you get. This enables Emma, Anthony, and the team at Street Heats BG to give accurate assessments of character to prospective adopters. Furthermore, adult dogs can be walked in heavily populated or high traffic areas to test their behaviour and reactions, meaning that we can easily asses what sort of home environment would suit them best.

There really is so much to gain from adopting an adult dog from Street Hearts BG! If you would like to see a complete list of our dogs that are available for adoption, please click the link below.
