Duke *UK based*

Duke is a large lad with a heart as big as his size! This handsome chap is sweet, cuddly, loving, and enjoys a good play session, both with his dog and human pals! Duke's a real social butterfly and adores the company of other dogs. In fact, he'd thrive in a home with a calm and confident canine companion. He's already house trained and crate trained, too!

Duke needs an adopter who has experience of Shepherd breeds. In foster, he has been amazing, but he does need a confident new owner. His previous adopter had issues with lead reactivity towards cats and bicycles; however, this is no longer a problem, but it could arise again if he is not managed properly. Duke is incredibly motivated by high-value rewards and understands engage / disengage commands, as this forms part of his current training regime.

Duke would love to have an adopter who works from home or is around most of the time, as he does have a bit of separation anxiety. Our fosterer is working on this and he has greatly improved, but he will need ongoing training.

Duke's Story

As a young puppy, Duke was abandoned at a bus shelter in the middle of winter, dumped in the snow and left to fend for himself. He found a home in the UK but was taken back into our care due to his previous adopter's inability to provide him with adequate training, socialisation, and guidance.

General Information

Duke's estimated date of birth is November 1st 2021. He is a large Shepherd mix (around 30kg). Duke would benefit from living with another friendly and confident resident dog. He can't live with children or cats. Duke is currently living in a semi urban environment, but ideally he would love a rural or semi-rural home environment. He is absolutely fine with traffic but does find crowded places overwhelming, like many dogs!

Duke is currently residing in Cheshire, UK. Meet-and-greets can be arranged for successful applicants. His adoption fee is £250.
