My story

Bambi was cruelly abandoned in an apartment, left to starve, and arrived at our shelter in a skeletal condition. Despite everything she's been through, she has shown incredible strength and bravery, and she's now ready to find the special home that she deserves.

Bambi may be small, but she has a huge personality!

Overall, she is a lovely, sweet girl who absolutely adores her people. She would happily be someone's little lap dog, always close by for a cuddle. While she can take a little time to build trust, once you've earned her heart, she is incredibly affectionate. As anyone who has seen her with our volunteer, Kiah, will know, the two are regularly found snuggled up together. Kiah describes Bambi as "a lover girl at heart!" She loves to play - not so much with toys, but with you - and thrives on that interaction and connection.

She is a real homebody at heart. Bambi loves nothing more than curling up on the sofa, and at night she will quite happily burrow under the duvet and make herself comfortable. She walks nicely on her harness, is confident out and about in town, and fully embraces wearing a coat when it's cold.

Bambi is crate trained and can be left alone, and her house training is almost there. She is clean 99% of the time, with just that last little bit still being worked on.

She gets on well with other dogs but can be a little bossy, so would be best suited to living with a confident, easy-going dog who won't be bothered by her, or equally as the only dog where she can have things her own way.

True to her Pinscher nature, Bambi knows her own mind. She has a bit of attitude about her and isn't shy in letting you know if something isn't to her liking. For this reason, she would benefit from an owner with experience of small breeds or similar temperaments, who will understand and appreciate her character.

She can be unsure of visitors and will need slow, gentle introductions to help her feel comfortable. Bambi has also declared an ongoing war with the hoover. It is, in her opinion, highly suspicious and must be told so.

This funny, feisty, and affectionate little dog is looking for a patient and understanding home where she can feel safe, loved, and adored.
