My story

Dencho was rescued during our 'Day of Action' in May 2026. Found alone in the village of Denchevtsi, he was painfully thin, covered in enormous ticks, and clearly having a very difficult time. Thankfully, those days are now behind him, and he has shown us what a truly wonderful dog he is!

Dencho is an incredibly sweet, gentle, and calm boy. He has adapted wonderfully to life in foster care with our volunteers and is now both house trained and crate trained!

He also recently visited Dryanovo and was completely comfortable around people, traffic, and the general hustle and bustle of town life.

Dencho is good with cats and has shown himself to be respectful and relaxed around them. He is also friendly with other dogs on a one-to-one basis. He can be a little nervous around large groups of dogs, which is entirely understandable, as we believe he was chased by a large pack while living on the streets. With individual dogs, however, he is sociable and comfortable, and we feel that he could happily live either with a calm, friendly canine companion or as the only dog in the home.

Dencho is an all-round lovely boy with a gentle temperament and a heart of gold. If you're looking for a calm, affectionate companion who will repay your kindness many times over, he could be the perfect addition to your home!
