My story

Dolly Pawton was found abandoned in a village, surviving on her own and too frightened to let anyone get close. A kind member of the public spotted her regularly, watching as she ran into the forest whenever anyone approached. It took weeks of patience to gain her trust, but eventually she allowed herself to be befriended, and that's when we were finally able to step in and bring her to safety.

Since arriving in our care, Dolly has blossomed into a truly lovely girl.

She is affectionate, sweet, fun, and full of happiness! Once Dolly trusts you, she adores you, and she wants to be as close to you as possible (preferably being cuddled!). She is intelligent and eager to please, forming strong bonds with those she feels safe with.

Dolly is also a very social dog and gets on beautifully with others (she adores her best friend, Buddy!). She loves her toys and has a happy, playful side that really shines through when she feels comfortable.

She walks nicely on the lead, enjoys her outings, and settles well both in the home and in her crate. Her recall is still a work in progress, but she is a clever girl who will continue to improve with the right guidance.

Due to her past, Dolly can be nervous in new situations and with unfamiliar people. She needs slow, gentle introductions and time to build trust at her own pace. Loud or busy environments can overwhelm her, so she is looking for a calm, quiet home in a rural or semi-rural area where she can feel safe and secure.

Dolly is improving every single day, and with patience and understanding, she will continue to grow into an incredibly devoted companion.

This sweet, sensitive, and loving girl is ready to find a home where she can finally relax, feel safe, and give her whole heart to someone who will cherish her.
