Meet your new four-legged sidekick!

My story

Zoro was abandoned close to our shelter, but unfortunately, when he appeared, we had no room to take him in. We were facing the dreadful possibility that we might have to neuter and release him back onto the streets. Thankfully, a wonderful friend of Street Hearts BG, Rosa, stepped in and offered to foster him until a space became available.

Zoro is a friendly, sweet, and clever young dog who has all the makings of a wonderful companion. At around 19kg, he's roughly the size of a Collie and is a confident, happy boy who loves being part of whatever is going on!

Zoro has already spent time living in a home environment and has taken to it brilliantly. He's also had some great experiences out and about, including trips into busy Sofia, where he's happily spent time in cafés and taken all the hustle and bustle in his stride. He travels well in the car and is confident exploring new places.

He's a very clever lad and a quick learner. He learned to walk on a lead incredibly quickly, now walks nicely, and already knows how to sit. He's a dog who enjoys learning and engaging with people, and we think he could be great fun for someone who wants a canine companion they can continue training.

Zoro really enjoys agility-style activities and loves anything that gets him moving, thinking, and exploring. We can easily picture him as a fantastic adventure companion, joining his family for hiking, mountain walks, and plenty of outdoor adventures.

Zoro is also good with other dogs and has lived in foster with cats. He did well with the cat in his foster home, although this was a confident, dog-savvy feline. Zoro can join in if another dog instigates chasing, so if his new home has cats, they would need to be confident and dog-savvy, with sensible introductions and management.

Like many young dogs, Zoro still has some growing up to do! He hasn't had a huge amount of formal training yet and can be boisterous and overenthusiastic at times. He'll benefit from an adopter who can give him clear, consistent boundaries and continue building on everything he has already learned. He's bright, willing, and picks things up quickly, so with the right guidance, he will thrive!

Zoro also has a rather distinctive feature - his short, stumpy tail! This is the result of a birth defect and is simply part of what makes him Zoro!

Friendly, confident, sweet, and clever, Zoro's already shown how well he can adapt to home life, busy environments, and new experiences. He just needs someone to give him the chance to keep learning, growing, and become the amazing adult we know he can be!
